What to expect
This tour was conceived for those who want to understand how wine is an integral part of the history and culture of our land, far from tourist locations aiming only to sell as much wine and oil as quickly as possible. Just as it takes time to make a good wine, it also takes the right amount of time to understand its secrets. We will enter a family-run winery, where internationally awarded wines are produced. The scenery will also astonish visitors: we are in a villa which once belonged to the Medici and still preserves many stories worth telling, as well as a labyrinthine cellar where ancient methods meet new techniques. We will also visit the vinsanto cellar and, during the right season, walk among the vineyards.
Next, we will understand the other main Tuscan product: olive oil, the key condiment for all our recipes. Here, oil is still conserved in evocative terracotta jars.
For lunch, we will enjoy local organic products on a gorgeous view, while sipping locally made wines.
At this point, what could be better than a walk in the olive groves to help digest our meal? We will walk to the house where Leonardo was born and continue towards the town of Vinci, while walking among the olive trees and occasionally stopping to take pictures of the amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
